Cider Mill

Sweet apple cider has become synonymous with apple picking time at Apple Hill Orchard. Despite the relatively short time our family has been making cider, our visitors have quickly fallen in love with the sweet, smooth taste that characterizes our cider!

We originally made cider with a rack and cloth press, but we had to switch to a larger, faster press because we simply couldn't keep up with the demand of our flash pasteurized cider.

At Apple Hill Orchard we use a careful blend of several apple varieties in each batch of cider. The slightly eclectic mixture of apples we use creates the signature flavor of our apple cider. In 2003, we won a Member's Choice Award at the North American Farmer's Direct Marketing Association's conference for our cider.

Cider making has grown at Apple Hill Orchard from that first batch of less than 50 gallons, pressed on a September evening in 1994, to multiple 600 gallon batches during busy weeks in the fall season.

Apple cider making has become a well established family tradition at Apple Hill Orchard. Once you taste our cider it may become a fall tradition for your family. Cold cider slushies on a hot August day, hot spiced cider on cool fall evenings or the holidays; our apple cider is perfect for any occasion.
